This work concerns the role of theatre arts in the field of dramatic education. It marks the connecting points of artistic (theatrical) developement and of social - psychological, personal, development. It contains analysis of theoretical backround of dramatic education in literature and reflection of practical survey. The survey contains both a dialogue with pedagogues of dramatic education and a questionnaire survey among both current and former students of dramatic education. I look for and point out the differences in concepts of this field in both the literature and the application and I reflect the consequences of these differences.
